This week is a tough one for me, as I am desperately missing the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. I was meant to be there earlier this week. This event is, without a doubt, my absolute favorite of the year. And sadly it was canceled. Obviously I understand given the times we are facing but I’m heartbroken.
Every year, I spend an entire day (blissfully alone!) taking in the sights, scents, and sounds of the most incredible displays. I eat nearly every meal there, have tea and shop. Most importantly, I soak in every drop of the world renowoned experience. And the very second I leave the grounds of the Royal Hospital, where the magic takes place, I begin to look forward to the next year’s show. My mind is full of lovely, tangible ideas that I keep and will put to good use when I eventually make the move back across the pond to Pennsylvania in the United States.
If you’ve been following me either through this blog or especially on Instagram for any length of time, you know that I love flowers. And I love gardening. It’s probably the one thing I miss about my home in Pennsylvania. There’s nothing like growing something yourself. Nurturing something from seed to table is one of the most rewarding experiences one can have, in my opinion.
This year, I’ve been checking in each day with the Virtual RHS Chelsea Flower Show. There have been some fascinating articles and videos to view, and I’ve come away with a few ideas. I’ve also been watching the programs airing on BBC1 and BBC2. These will have to appease me until I can be reunited with my beloved show next year. And be reunited, I will.
Are there any events that you’re disappointed about missing this year? Feel free to commiserate with me below!
Thanks for reading! Cheers!
